The Big Data science movement is transforming how Internet companies and researchers over the world address traditional problems.

Big Data refers to the ability of exploiting the massive amounts of unstructured data that is generated continuously by companies, users, devices, and extract key understanding from it.

This introductory session touches briefly on Big Data in the cloud and introduces Hadoop as a Big Data processing tool for data scientists and researchers.

The final part of the workshop provides a hands on interactive and practical session to build a Big Data processing system from Raspberry PI’s.
